The eSIM market is a maze. We brought a map.
RoamSonar compares real eSIM plans, decodes the fine print, and applies the coupons before we rank anything. One search instead of forty tabs.
Why this site exists
Here's the open secret of travel eSIMs: there are hundreds of brands, and most of them are reselling access to the same handful of local networks. Same towers, same coverage, same speeds — at prices that can differ by 4× depending on whose checkout you happen to land on. The branding is loud, the fine print is quiet, and 'unlimited' has more asterisks than a pharmacy ad.
Comparing them by hand means forty browser tabs, three currencies, and a spreadsheet you'll abandon by row twelve. We didn't think buying 10 GB of data should require a research project. So we built the research project once, and kept it running.
One honest search
Tell us the country, your days, and how much data you burn. We show every plan we track that actually fits — sorted by real math, not by who paid us most.
Fine print, decoded
eKYC requirements, hotspot bans, daily caps dressed up as totals — we badge them in plain English before you buy, not after.
Coupons before ranking
If a working coupon exists, we apply it to the price first and then rank. A strikethrough on RoamSonar is arithmetic, never theatre.
Who runs this
RoamSonar is built by the AFF network team in Pune, India. We have operated affiliate media since 2015+, and we treat a comparison page as an editorial product: prices must trace to a source, commercial relationships stay disclosed, and a provider cannot buy a better rank.
Spot a wrong price or condition? Send the page and what you saw through /contact. We verify corrections within 24 hours. Our sourcing method combines scheduled provider-feed syncs, stored coupon verification dates and server-side ranking checks; the exact scoring method is published on How we rank.
Prices go stale. Ours don't get to.
eSIM prices move constantly — flash sales, quiet increases, plans that vanish overnight. A comparison site running on last month's numbers is worse than useless, so we made freshness the product: our provider feeds re-sync automatically every 30 minutes, and every results page shows you exactly when its prices were last verified.
You never have to take our word for it. The timestamp is right there on the page. Right now, our data is 3 minutes old.
How we keep ourselves honest
- Ranking formulas are published in full on /how-we-rank — and the page ships with the same executable checks that guard the ranking code, so drift is a build failure.
- We earn a commission when you buy through our links. It never changes an order, a score, or a badge. Details on /how-we-make-money.
- If we don't know something — like whether a plan gets 5G — we show a dash. We never guess.
- Every coupon we show is verified, dated, and removed the moment it stops working.
- Plans that disappear from a provider's feed disappear from our results the same half hour.
Run by travelers, built for travelers
RoamSonar started the way most useful tools do: someone got burned. A 'Europe unlimited' eSIM that throttled to dial-up on day two, bought in an airport, at a markup we still don't like talking about. We built the comparison engine we wished existed that day — currently tracking 4607 plans across 202 destinations, with more providers onboarding. We use it for our own trips. That's the whole quality-assurance program, and honestly, it's a strict one.
